NOURISH YOUR PRACTICE.
We can sum up our philosophy in a word – Nourish. We believe in nourishing your whole self – your body, your mind, your soul. And we think you might believe in that too – after all you found your way to yoga!
Yoga gives us so much – a calmer mind, a happier, kinder soul, and a leaner, healthier body with better mobility and strength. Many styles of yoga can be extremely physically demanding – building strength, stamina, flexibility and in the process sweating lots! All good things of course – but feeding your body is super important too – nourishing your body with the right nutrients will help you get more out of your practice – and help you sustain it over your lifetime!
That’s where Niyama™ Yoga Wellness comes in. Professional quality natural health products that are made in Canada, plant-sourced, and formulated specifically for Yogis. Natural wellness solutions to help energize, rehydrate and replenish, promote muscle recovery, reduce stress, and protect joints from wear and tear so you can sustain your practice at any age.
To nourish & support yogis and non-yogis on the path to sustainable wellness. Both on and off the mat.
We mean authentic gratitude, not just good manners. Feeling thankful and appreciative of all that we have received in life, and all that has brought us to where we are now (even the hard stuff) is an important part of self-acceptance. And experts have found that gratitude is positively linked to greater happiness and well-being.
Real-self-care, not just as a justification for over-indulging in online shopping or spa visits. (Ok, occasionally guilty!) It’s easy to neglect taking care of ourselves because our lives are so busy, and self-sacrifice and overwork have achieved such “badge” status, that taking time out feels totally like slacking. But self-care isn’t slacking - it's crucial – and it’s not a reward, it’s a must. So, eat well, prioritize sleep, go for a walk outside, do yoga, spend time with people you love, and learn to say no. That’s right, NO. Self-care keeps your stress in check and keeps you functioning at your best.

To ourselves, to family, friends, strangers, animals, and our planet. Kindness is contagious – each act of kindness creates a ripple that moves outward, wider and wider, farther and farther. If you can be anything in this life, why not be kind?
Every single human life has equal value. Period.

Jillian first started practicing yoga in the late 1990’s while in her 20’s. Through exploring different styles of yoga, she fell in love with the practice of Ashtanga Vinyasa, but also enjoys Hot Yoga, Restorative and Hatha. Jillian practiced regularly for almost a decade until her practice was completely sideswiped by the double hit of young children and intense career demands. Long days at the office, frequent work travel, balanced by joyful weekend-morning family cuddles replaced sun salutations and headstands for a time. In 2017 Jillian fulfilled a long-held dream of completing a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training, and began leading vinyasa classes part-time. Jillian is grateful to many teachers on her journey so far including Ian MacDonald, Cynthia Funk, Ron Reid, Marla Joy, and most significantly David Gellineau.
Career-wise Jillian has 20 years’ experience in the Natural Health & Nutrition category; beginning her career in Sales and Brand Management and advancing to Executive level positions in Marketing and Innovation. Jillian has benefited from working with both specialty and mainstream natural health brands including Quest Vitamins, WEIL Nutritional Supplements, Progressive Nutritional Supplements, and Jamieson Vitamins. In her 12 years at Jamieson, Jillian led the launch of over 150 products, from concept stage through to launch execution, with support campaigns across a variety of media including TV, Print, Social, Digital, Out of Home.
Jillian holds a BA from University of Toronto, an MBA from Schulich School of Business, a Diploma in Nutritional Management from George Brown, and a 200H YTT from Downward Dog.
Jillian lives in Toronto’s Beach neighbourhood with her husband/soulmate, their four dynamic and seriously awesome children (she does admit to bias here), and two adorable but naughty cats.
